Grandma Rose’s Vanilla Pudding

Homemade vanilla pudding.jpeg

We love our Grandma Rose’s homemade cooking.

This pudding is the taste of home. We hope you enjoy.

INGREDIENTS:

½ C sugar

2/3 cup flour

½ tsp. salt

4. C milk

3 egg yolks

2 TBLS

1 tsp vanilla

DIRECTIONS:

In medium saucepan whisk together sugar, flour, salt, milk and egg yolks over medium low heat, whisking occasionally- just enough so that it doesn’t stick on bottom of pan-maybe every minute or two until the mixture is bubbling all throughout- this will take about 7-8 minutes.

Once bubbling, continue cooking for one to additional minutes whisking once or twice to not stick- don’t over mix: over mixing can break down binding properties. The pudding should be thickened but still pourable. It will thicken more as it cools.  :)

Remove from heat and whisk in butter and vanilla extract. Cool until lukewarm, then cover with plastic wrap. Refrigerate for several hours or until chilled.

Thank you for being part of the legend.

Be well, eat well, and do well,

The DeBruycker Family.
