This is super creamy and delicious. AND you don’t have to heat up the kitchen to make a great dessert. (You can buy a premade Oreo crust too if you are in a hurry!)
Ingredients:
2 cups crushed Oreo cookies (about 20-24 cookies)
4-5 Tablespoons of melted butter
1/2 cup of heavy whipping cream
1 cup of chocolate chips (semi-sweet)
1/4 tsp almond or vanilla extract
pinch of salt
1 cup of heavy whipping cream ( save half to make whip cream topping for the top of the pie.
Directions:
Make Oreo crust: melt butter add to crushed cookies. Press into a pie pan or a 9x9 or 8x10 inch pan. Bake for 10 minutes in a 350-degree oven. Cool completely.
While pie crust cools: Gently warm 1/2 cup of whipping cream and add chocolate chips, stir until melted and smooth, add almond or vanilla extract. Let cool.
Whip the remaining 1 cup of heavy whipping cream until stiff peaks . Divide in half. The half that is going on to the pie as a topping, add a little sugar and vanilla extract to your taste.
Fold the chocolate that has been melted into the heavy cream into the whipped cream- gently.
When pie crust has cooled pour in the delectable chocolate mousse. Top with whipped cream. Cool for 4-6 hours or overnight.
